Canberra Yung Society has invited a presentation of the “The Story Behind the Story” at their April 6th meeting. 8 p.m. at Mary McKillop Centre Archibold Street, Lyneham. I will talk about how the book came to be written, Navajo creation stories, Elroys’ medicine, ceremony and beliefs and share one of Elroys’ blessing ceremonies. I will also address readers and reviewers questions since the book was released, such as, How did a non American, a non native American, a woman, come to be writing this story? What of the politics of culture, race and gender? All welcome.
